Bed & Breakfast and Farmstay South Australia

Founded in 1986 the South Australian Bed & Breakfast Association amalgamated with South Australian Farm & Country Holidays in July 2004 to form the "Bed & Breakfast and Farmstay South Australia".

The Association has been formed to address issues that affect the successful establishment and operation of 'Bed & Breakfast and Farmstay' accommodation in and around Adelaide and South Australia. The Association is incorporated under the Associations Incorporations Act of 1987.

The Association is registered with the Office of Fair Trading and is recognised by the South Australian Tourism Commission and other state, federal and local government agencies as the peak industry body in South Australia, representing quality Bed & Breakfast and Farmstay accommodation throughout Adelaide and the rest of the state.

The objects of the Association are set out in its Constitution, as follows:

(a) To develop, promote and advance specialty Bed & Breakfast and Farmstay accommodation for travellers in South Australia

(b) To ensure excellence in Bed & Breakfast and Farmstay accommodation in South Australia through the promotion of standards of accommodation and a code of practice for members

(c) To co-operate with and encourage the involvement of local and state government authorities in the promotion and development of Bed & Breakfast accommodation in South Australia

(d) To support members in establishing and operating local or regional groups of the Association

One of the Association's major activities is to assist people interested in setting up a Bed & Breakfast or Farmstay by guiding them in 'best practice' as recommended by the Association, just as it assists its members to maintain these high standards.
